Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Demtech Consulting Private Limited (“Demtech”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use demtech.ai (the “website”) or get in touch with us. We build digital and AI infrastructure that helps people take part in governance, and we try to hold ourselves to the same standard of openness we ask of others.
Our registered address is Demtech Consulting Private Limited, C/o. 91 Springboard Business Hub Private Limited, 1st Floor, Gopala Krishna Complex, #45-3 Residency Road, Bangalore, Karnataka 560025, India. You can reach us at info@demtech.ai.
This policy covers the website and our own communications. Where we operate a product such as BeCause for an organisation, that organisation decides why and how the information of its supporters is used and a separate agreement and privacy notice applies.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, organisation (optional), the topic you are interested in and your message. If you email or call us, or apply for a role, we keep what you send us.
Information collected automatically. When you browse the website we record anonymous usage data: the pages you view, the time spent on them, how far you scroll, the buttons you click, the website that referred you (and any campaign tags in the link), your approximate device type, browser, operating system and language. We do not store your IP address, and we do not set analytics cookies (see “Analytics and cookies”).
Technical logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, time and requested page) for security and reliability.
How we use information
- to read and reply to your enquiry, and to keep a record of the conversation;
- to understand how the website is used and to improve it;
- to keep the website secure and to prevent spam and abuse;
- to evaluate job applications and partnership proposals you send us;
- to meet our legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Our legal basis
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent (for example when you choose to send us a message); our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the website and answering enquiries, which do not override your rights; and legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose information. In India we process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its rules; where you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, in line with the GDPR / UK GDPR.
Analytics and cookies
We use a small, privacy-friendly analytics system that we run ourselves. It does not use cookies or local storage to follow you, does not store IP addresses, and does not share data with advertising networks. To count a visit without identifying you, it creates an anonymous code from your connection details that is mixed with a secret and changes every day, so activity cannot be linked across days.
We respect the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals: if your browser sends either one, we do not record your visit. Our own team’s signed-in browsers are excluded.
The website itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies. If we ever add tools that do, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
International transfers
We operate in India, Australia and the USA, and our providers may process information in other countries. Where information leaves your country we take steps so that it stays protected to a standard consistent with this policy and applicable law, such as contractual safeguards with our providers.
How long we keep it
Messages you send through the website are kept for as long as needed to respond and for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless the law requires longer or we need them to deal with a dispute. Anonymous analytics data is deleted automatically after 24 months. Job application details are kept for up to 12 months unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
How we protect it
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and password hashing, keep our dashboard limited to named team members, and store only the minimum we need. No online service can be completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive or confidential details through the contact form.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy; have it corrected or completed; have it erased; object to or restrict certain uses; withdraw consent you have given; receive it in a portable format; and complain to a data protection authority (for example the Data Protection Board of India, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, or your local EU/UK authority). California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA; we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
To use any of these rights, email info@demtech.ai. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response, you can write to us at the address below and we will treat it as a grievance.
Children
The website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, please tell us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
The website may link to other sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will make clear any significant changes on the website.
